Pardiyono

According to Pardiono (2007), the descriptive text comes from the Latin describere which means describing something. Then Pardiono defines in easy-to-digest language as a form of essay that describes a condition or actual situation through the five senses.

- Suwarna

Suwarna (2012), defines descriptive text as a collection of paragraphs about a particular object or place. To get the data and collection of information, it takes experience and involves the five senses which include eyes, heart, ears, skin, and taste.

- Finoza

Descriptive text is an essay that describes the condition of something so that it invites the reader to feel, hear, and see.

- Keraf

According to Keraf (1981), descriptive text is writing something that writes about something. Where descriptive text is a form of writing that is interrelated. Without the efforts of the authors in linking interesting writings, they will not produce interesting writings.

- Parera

Parera (1987) defines descriptive text as a living essay. Where the experience is obtained from the experience of the five senses felt by the author.

Ⓓⓔⓢⓒⓡⓘⓟⓣⓘⓥⓔ Ⓣⓔⓧⓣ Ⓣⓨⓟⓔ

Descriptive text is divided into three types, namely:

🦋Spatial Description Paragraph

A paragraph whose topic is a room or place. This paragraph describes a space or place very clearly to the reader.

💐Objective Description Paragraph

This paragraph describes an object according to reality without any opinion or personal impression of a writer.

💗Subjective Description Paragraph

This paragraph describes an object based on what is felt, seen by the author himself. In other words, the author expresses personal opinions about the state of an object or object.

𝕊𝕥𝕣𝕦𝕔𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕖 𝔻𝕖𝕤𝕔𝕣𝕚𝕡𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖

Descriptive text has two structures, namely identification (introduction) and description (elaboration). Here's the explanation:

• Identification (introduction)

Identification contains the introduction or explanation of the main character to be described. This section is located in the first paragraph. Characters can be people, objects, places, or events.

• Description

The description section contains a clear and specific explanation of the characteristics, traits, habits or other matters relating to the object to be described.

Singapore is home to 5.6 million people with a diverse culture. Majority ethnic groups in Singapore are Chinese, Malay, and Indian. Singapore Independence Day was on the 9th of August 1965. Merlion Statue is the official mascot of Singapore. Singapore is famous for its Garden by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, dan Orchard Road (description).
